The Rescue Mission Alliance takes your privacy seriously and is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all fundraising efforts and to the ethical collection, retention, and use of information on our donors. To accomplish this, we commit to the following:
- We seek and record only the information that is relevant to the programs of the organization.
- Our donor files will not be rented to any other organization. We do participate in co-op database programs for the purposes of inviting new donors to help support the work of RMA and to better understand and cater content to our current supporters. The co-op database programs share information about the donation and purchasing habits of supporters of various organizations. If your personally identifiable information does not already appear in the co-op database, we will not share or add donation information. However, if your personally identifying information does already appear in the co-op database, basic information about your giving habits with RMA, including frequency and donation amount, will be shared. Contact information is only made available to other participants when it’s been independently provided by more than one participating organization.
- Documents containing information about our donors will be carefully protected by the Rescue Mission Alliance, and will be irrevocably destroyed when no longer needed.
- Information on our partners (i.e. our mailing list or donor giving records) is only given to persons who need such information to perform their assigned duties for the Rescue Mission Alliance. This includes companies who prepare mailings, analyze, and append data, contact donors on our behalf, or other uses related to the fulfillment of the Rescue Mission Alliance’s purposes.
- Any outside source receiving the Rescue Mission Alliance’s mailing list must agree to the terms of our data use agreement policy, which states that:
- The names and addresses contained in the data file will only be used for the specified project;
- The electronic file will not be forwarded electronically to any other person other than for the purpose of completing the agreed-upon project.
The Rescue Mission Alliance operates under the premise that any donor has the right to review his or her record maintained by our organization. You may at any time have your name excluded from sharing with any third party.
